PUSA with BOAT

February is known for several things: being difficult for 6th graders to spell, Valentine's Day, cold weather, and of course President's Day.

BOAT will be playing two special shows in support of the Presidents of the USA in honor of this fact.

Thursday, February 11th, will see BOAT packing up the Jeep and heading to the Roseland Ballroom in Portland, OR. On Saturday, February 13th, BOAT will be joining the Presidents at the Showbox at the Market.

Be there and witness a true spectacle. Rumor has it that D. Crane spent two years as an official member of the PUSA fan club.

When asked for comment, D. Crane's mother said this: "I vaguely remember bringing in official PUSA newsletters, stickers, and postcards from the mailbox, during his tumultuous teen years. I am unable to confirm that he has a VHS tape of their infamous MTV Mt. Rushmore appearance, in his possession."

SHOCKER IN GLOOMTOWN:BOAT defeated!

BOAT was defeated by Head Like a Kite in the final round of Grudge Rock! The upset of a lifetime occurred over the category...."songs that have a day of the week in the title."

BOAT was shut out on: Sunday Bloody Sunday, S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night-Bay City Rollers, and Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting. Head Like a Kite stole the category and the 102 points with Ruby Tuesday-Rolling Stones. It was brutal indeed.

Here is the setlist. BOAT is at home drying the tears off of their smooth cheeks.

BOAT is excited to announce their next show will be at the glorious Sunset Tavern on Friday, December 18th (the last day of school before Winter Break!).

It features BOAT playing alongside the two of the best pop bands in Seattle. The Exploding High Fives have been blowing up D. Crane's iPod playlists for all of 2009, and they have only recorded three songs!

Concours D' Elegance is the newest project from ex M. McKenzie bandmate Joe Rufa. They will make you sweat.

The whole night begins at 9pm, and will be hosted/will feature comedy and music by Lebeau of comedic duo Peacock and Lebeau. It is the perfect way to end 2009.

Be there.

BOAT will start Friday by playing at 12 noon PST on www.kexp.org. You can listen live in Seattle on 90.3, or on the web, by clicking here.

Then....BOAT will play a free all ages in store at 7pm at Sonic Boom Records in Ballard.

They will be putting all the songs from Setting the Paces in a hat and letting the audience pull the setlist out. It will be a great way to end the week/begin your Friday night of Ballard pizza eating. Be there!

We are so excited here at BOAT HQ. Summer is turning into fall, fantasy football is being played, BOAT members are finding new employment with benefits, J. Long is recording amazing bands, students are behaving generally well, and the new BOAT LP is off at the record manufacturing plant!

SETTING the PACES will be available in stores (on clear orange vinyl and CD)and online on October 27th.

The garage is stocked with paint, cardboard, diet soda, glue, and scissors. BOAT is planning a grand record release show at Neumo's on October 22nd, with the Pale (Cam from the Pale mixed the new LP) and Sirens Sister. It will be a stage show, and feature a stage set, as well as special guests, and surprises. It is not to be missed. More details soon.
