FRIDAY THE CAPITOL HILL BLOCK PARTY----6:30

We are playing at 6:30 on Friday at the Capitol Hill Block Party.

We found this picture of our set list from the last show of our tour. We will be playing a totally different/but very exciting set on Friday. This will be our proof.

BOAT will be playing as a three piece on Friday, but Ian Bone will be rejoining the band (making it a 4 piece) for the KEXP and KNDD radio appearances, as well as the record release. OK.

Oh yes, keep the cover entries coming. The hat is getting full. We have over 60 entries so far. Make sure you enter by August 1st at midnight.

BOAT LIVE ON KEXP CONTEST

BOAT/Live on KEXP COVER SONG CONTEST!

In honor of their record release and the heat wave that is crossing the US this summer, BOAT is taking requests for their KEXP performance on August 4th at 12pm Pacific. All requests need to have the word summer, heat, hot, or sweat in the title.

BOAT will choose one entry out of a hat and learn it, in order to play it. Then they will reveal the winner live on KEXP by playing the song. The winner will receive a BOAT tee shirt and a copy of Songs That You Might Not Like, as well as a copy of the out of print Make Way For the Genius to Appear single and a handful of random BOAT buttons.

All entries must be received in the boat@ohnodisaster.com inbox by midnight on Tuesday August 1st.

As they come in entries to the cover song contest will be posted at www.ohnodisaster.com/boat.

Thanks….make sure to include your name with your entry.

BACK IN SEATTLE!

The minivan pulled in to Seattle around noon today. Last night we played the Towne Lounge with The Minders and the New Finesse. The Minders new album is terrific and their show was great. I nominate their new song "Don't You Stop" as my favorite song I have heard this year.

It was BOAT's finest tour yet. So many great people came out and we had so much fun breaking our strings and putting our guitars strangely out of tune for them.

We are getting things ready for our record release show on August 5th at the Sunset Tavern. Touring BOAT member Ian Bone is all but guaranteed to be there and there are rumors of our Wurlitzer piano making an appearance. There is still some confusion as to whether we are playing the Capitol Hill Block Party. We will know for sure by Monday....we hope.

Thanks again to everyone who has come out to the shows and bought "Songs That You Might Not Like."

All Songs Considered!

Clogged Castle was played today on NPR's All Songs Considered Podcast that was a tribute to Syd Barrett of Pink Floyd, who passed away this week. We are beyond shocked and honored. Check it out here.

We are celebrating with sodas as the minivan makes its way to Chico, CA!

BOAT does their laundry!

BOAT will do anything it takes to get vinyl pressed! It is over 100 million degrees in Sacramento today, thank goodness Magic Marker tee shirts breathe so well.

SWEATFEST!/Two more tour shows!

Here is a picture of the sweatiest show of the tour. We swam in the ocean and then played at Buffalo Records in Ventura, CA. It was pretty rad.

Last night we played the mighty Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco. We played with a band called CIA ACid PArty and another band called the Passionistas. Both were very cool. We also broke more strings, ate pizza sandwiches, and played one of our better shows.

We have a show tonight in Chico, CA at the Crux Art Collective. Then tomorrow we will be opening for the Minders at the Towne Lounge in Portland, OR. Sadly on Saturday, the Wild Wooly West Coast Tour will be just a memory.

Special thanks to everyone who has come out to shows in Ventura, Goleta, and San Francisco. Also, thanks to David who let us stay in his mansion in progress.

The tour continues tomorrow at the Press Club in Sacramento. So far the band has played 4 shows and has only broken one string, I have lost my voice only twice, and we have yet to do laundry from the road. Thanks to everyone who has made it to a show.

"Songs That You Might Not Like" has been spotted in some stores around the US. It will be officially avaialable on Tuesday July 11th, or it can be ordered at www.magicmarkerrecords.com.

Here is a picture from the Magic Marker House show in Portland. We hope to see you at a show soon.
